How to book a flight
Posted by Sean Chatland on 09/15/2011
Well folks, welcome aboard Virtual Star Alliance!
So now that you are here, how do you go about booking and flying a flight using our advanced ACARS system?
First off, you need to download a small program called KaCARS (availible here: http://www.fs-products.net/ )
This program will run in the background and allows you to pull up your flight, communicate with our website and eventually file a PIREP (or pilot report) once you have completed a flight.
So once downloaded, go into the options/user settings and put in the following information:
base url: http://virtualstaralliance.com/
pilot ID: VSA***
password: whatever you have selected
Leave the other three options unselected and save.
Ok, so navigate to our website, login using your same VSA*** number and password and go to the pilot center.
Navigate to the profile options and go to view schedules.
You can select any airport you want and any of the star alliance carriers.
Ok, so once you have found a list of flights the three icons on the right in this order are: schedule (a glimpse of where the flight goes), Flight Briefing and Book the flight.
Once you book the flight you can go back to KaCARS click on the log in, with flight sim loaded click connect to flight sim and then get flight bid.
All of the flight information will be there and off you go!
Once you land and set the parking brake stop the flight and file the Pirep.
Its that simple!
Please send any questions to me or one of the other admins in the forums!
Hope you enjoy and once again thanks for flying star alliance!
